INGREDIENTS:
1. 1 cup Guinness
2. 1/2 cup of butter
3. 2 cups sugar
4. 3/4 cups baking cocoa
5. 2 large eggs beaten
6. 2/3 cup sour cream
7. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
8. 2 cups flour
9. 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
TOPPING INGREDIENTS:
1. 1-8oz package softened cream cheese
2. 1-1/2 cups confectioner sugar
3. 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
DIRECTIONS:
In a small pan heat beer and butter until butter is melted. Remove from the heat; stir in the sugar and cocoa until blended. Combine eggs, sour cream and vanilla; stir into beer mixture. Combine flour and baking soda; stir into beer mixture until smooth. Pour batter into greased 9 inch springform pan that is lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool completely in the pan. Remove sides of pan and replace the cake on a plate or cake stand.
In large bowl beat the cream cheese until fluffy. Add the confectioner sugar and cream and mix until smooth. Ice top of cake. 12 servings.
