The Mimi Burns Band is a World Class Celtic Rock Band based in the Midwest of the United States.
Formed in 1998 with the husband and wife co-creating team, vocalist/ songwriter Mimi Burns and guitarist/ songwriter Stephen Tyler.
The band’s current line up includes lead chair Philharmonic viola Derek Reeves on fiddle, Dave Baker on keys, tremendous bagpiper Andy Kramer formerly of well loved Celtic Rock Band ‘Mother Grove’, China’s Gold Medal World Championships Youth Choir drummer Bryan Nellums partnering with Grammy Winner Chief Engineer William Brown III recording at Ardent, the prodigy William Brown IV on percussion with Adam Colclesser on bass.

The band are known for their epic stage show, captivating vocals and driving rhythms. They achieved widespread recognition with their second and third albums hitting the airwaves in over 30 countries. Transcending the genre and bridging the gap between World music and Celtic Rock, they have a vast depth to the soul of their sound. After prolifically touring and recording during the late 1990′s and early 2000′s, the band went on hiatus following the European Tour in 2002. The time during which Mimi and Steve began a family.
The Mimi Burns Band returned to the airwaves in 2008 with their hit single ‘I Know You’re Out There’.
In 2009 Burns/Tyler and McNeil began writing the Rock Opera
‘Tír na nÓg which was then
transformed and recently finished by Burns.
The show is currently being shopped to the top directors in the entertainment industry.
Throughout their career, this exceptional band have released three studio albums, toured in Europe and the U.K. and have a large global fan base. Their upcoming album entitled ‘Where the Journey Begins’ is set to begin recording, in the early fall of 2010 before they begin headlining the festival season for 2011 and 2012.
